Agra Fort ticket prices 2026 at a glance
A regular Agra Fort ticket costs INR 650 for foreign visitors, INR 90 for visitors from SAARC and BIMSTEC countries and INR 50 for Indian visitors. All prices are per person, in Indian rupees, for 2026. Children under 15 enter free.
On Fridays the fares are lower: INR 600 for foreign visitors and INR 40 for SAARC, BIMSTEC and Indian visitors. Foreign and SAARC or BIMSTEC visitors also pay the lower fare after a visit to the Taj Mahal. That is a reduced tariff, not a joint ticket.
You buy tickets at the counter at the Amar Singh Gate, the only entrance for visitors, or you book online.

Agra Fort entry fee by visitor type
Per person, in INR, for 2026.
| Visitor | Regular | Friday | After a Taj Mahal visit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Foreign visitors | INR 650 | INR 600 | INR 600 |
| SAARC and BIMSTEC visitors | INR 90 | INR 40 | INR 40 |
| Indian visitors | INR 50 | INR 40 | โ |
| Children under 15 | Free | Free | Free |
For most foreign visitors, plan on INR 650, or INR 600 on a Friday. There is no general discount for students or seniors.
Why the totals at the counter can differ
The total for foreign visitors comes to INR 650, to INR 550 (INR 500 plus INR 50), or to INR 650 plus a separate INR 500 development fee. Indian, SAARC and BIMSTEC fares can also come to INR 30.
- Ask at the counter: the counter at the Amar Singh Gate takes UPI and cards, so you can confirm the total before you pay.
- The INR 500 development fee: where it applies, it is paid once a day. If you paid it the same day at another monument, you do not pay it again at the fort. It does not apply on Fridays.
- Budget for the table: use the fares in the table above for planning, and keep a little extra in case the counter asks for a separate fee.
- Age limit: free entry applies to children under 15. A child who is exactly 15 may be treated differently, so carry a passport copy to be safe.
Agra Fort timings
The fort is open from sunrise to sunset, every day, including Fridays. That is roughly 06:00 to 18:00. Because sunrise and sunset move through the year, the hours move with them, and there is no single last-entry time for the whole year. Arrive well before sunset if you want the full visit.
The Taj Mahal keeps different hours. It opens 30 minutes before sunrise, closes 30 minutes before sunset and is closed to tourists on Fridays. See Taj Mahal tickets for its fares.
Where to buy and how to book online
You can buy at the counter at the Amar Singh Gate with UPI or a card, or book online before you go. Online booking brings a small discount: INR 5 per Indian ticket and INR 50 per foreign ticket. Do not assume that several discounts add up.
You do not need an advance reservation for the fort. Booking ahead mainly saves you a stop at the counter. If you book a guided tour, check in the tour description whether the entry ticket is included, because some tours cover the guide and transport only.
Fort and Taj Mahal: two tickets, one lower fare
There is no joint ticket. Here are the other main Agra monuments for comparison.
| Monument | Indian visitors | Foreign visitors | SAARC and BIMSTEC |
|---|---|---|---|
| Agra Fort | INR 50 | INR 650 | INR 90 |
| Taj Mahal, without main mausoleum | INR 50 | INR 1,100 | INR 540 |
| Fatehpur Sikri | INR 50 | INR 610 | INR 50 |
| Akbar's Tomb, Sikandra | INR 30 | INR 310 | INR 30 |
| Itimad-ud-Daulah | INR 15 to INR 30 | INR 210 to INR 310 | INR 30 |
| Mehtab Bagh | INR 15 to INR 25 | INR 200 to INR 300 | INR 25 |
The Taj Mahal fare does not include the main mausoleum, which costs an optional INR 200 extra. The Taj Mahal is closed to tourists on Fridays, and the other monuments are open. For most visitors, the simplest plan is the Taj on one day and the fort, with its lower after-Taj fare, on the same day or the next.
Practical tips for the ticket counter
Use the Amar Singh Gate
This is the only entrance for visitors. The military part of the fort is closed, and old gates such as the Delhi Gate are not entrances for tourists.
Gates and walls โPlan the Taj for another day than Friday
Friday is the one day the fort is open and the Taj Mahal is not. Use it for the fort, the Musamman Burj and the old city.
Taj Mahal hours โPhotography
Ordinary photography is allowed at protected monuments. Tripods and extra lighting need written permission.
