The Agra Fort light and sound show in 2026

The light and sound show at Agra Fort is called Rang-e-Agra: Yugon Ka Safar. It started in April 2025 and uses projection technology on the fort. One performance lasts 45 minutes.

The programme has two slots every day, one in Hindi and one in English, with separate prices for Indian and international visitors. About 300 seats are available per performance. The fort itself is open from sunrise to sunset, so the show is an evening addition to a daytime visit. If you have not bought your fort entry yet, see the Agra Fort tickets page.

Check the current timetable before you plan an evening around the show, in particular if you need the English slot.

The two slots follow each other with a 15-minute gap. If you only want one show, the language decides the time: the earlier slot is Hindi and the later slot is English. Whether a performance runs on a particular evening can change, for example with the season or maintenance, so look up the current status on the day.

Seats, booking and what to expect

The show has about 300 seats per performance. Tickets are sold online and at the fort, in order of availability. Seats are limited, so booking ahead is the safer choice when you have a fixed travel date.

  • Choose by language: a Hindi performance comes first at 18:30. The English performance starts at 19:30.
  • Tickets are per person: prices are not group prices, so multiply by the number of people in your party.
  • Check the status: confirm the current timetable and your ticket category before you travel to the fort in the evening.

How to plan the evening

Four points that keep the day simple.

See the fort by day first

Daytime visiting runs from sunrise to sunset, so the walk through the Diwan-i-Am, the palaces and the Musamman Burj belongs to the day. Read what is inside before you go.

Friday evenings work

The programme runs daily. On a Friday the Taj Mahal is closed to tourists, while the fort and the evening show stay on the programme.

Check the weather

Evenings in the cooler months and in the summer heat feel very different. Look at the monthly averages before you pick a date.

Think about the way back

The show ends around 19:15 or 20:15. If you stay in Taj Ganj or on Fatehabad Road, plan your transport back ahead of time.

Another fort, another evening show

Agra is one corner of the Golden Triangle. If your route continues to Jaipur, you can read about the evening programme there too: see the light and sound show at Amber Fort. The two programmes are separate, with their own times and tickets.
